1968 Ford Mustang Fastback 347 V8 Stroker Auto
Location: United Kingdom
Originally supplied in 1968 as a T code (6 cylinder) Fastback, this car has been extensively stripped down to the bare shell and totally restored. Accompanying the car is a large history file too. The upper dash tag (as per 68) matches the tag on door.
The car has been build to an incredibly high specification. Finished in metallic Acapulco Blue with Black interior to a very high standard. The Fastback has also had some tasteful Shelby upgrades including the boot lid, side scoops etc. It also has a desirable turn signal bonnet too. The car sits on Magnum 500 wheels. Also fitted is an alloy and wood GT performance wood steering wheel.
Mechanically, this car has been built to the ultimate drivers car with regular use in mind. It features KRC power steering, Wilwood power front disc brakes, updated gauges and other creature comforts like an IDITIT tilt steering column. It is perfect comfortable and docile to cruise in, both around town and on the motorway, but kick it down and boy can this car shift! This is a properly fast Mustang.
The motor is a Ford Crate Engine Boss 302 V8 that has been stroked to 347 cubic inches and is rated at 360 horsepower and 400 foot pounds torque. The engine features include stainless headers and cross over exhaust system, MSD ignition, all wiring (including the dash), alloy radiator, alloy rocker covers, alloy air cleaner etc. The engine bay is incredibly clean as is the underside.
The beefy engine is mated to a C4 automatic transmission that has been built for 600 horsepower. The 9 inch rear axle is from Curie in the USA and has been built with 3.50 gears and 31 spline axles.
Overall, this turn key, ready to go Fastback would be perfectly suited to a first time Mustang owner or seasoned collector. It is split personality as a tame, cruiser and rocket-ship-on-tap will provide endless smiles and laughs.
